Guidelines for Internship Partners
Organizations are asked to do the following to the best of their ability/capacity:


·         Discuss with the trainee the qualifications and  duties in jobs and career path in general
·         Develop at 1-2 outcomes that the trainee can complete by the end of their internship
·         Provide an environment where trainees have the opportunity to experience the day to day flow of one or several job functions within your organization that are of interest to the trainee
·         Provide opportunities for trainee to meet with other staff members and other networking opportunities allowing for the chance to proactively network and build future connections
·         Have conversations about transferable skills and give feedback on strengths and weakness
·         Provide assignments/opportunities to do hands on learning and training in applicable work duties related to their career of choice. 


Learning goals for the trainee

Career Exposure:
  • Proactively learn about what it’s like to work in an particular organization and understand it's culture
  • Experience the day-to-day responsibilities within a defined career path

Career Development:
  • Gain an understanding of the qualifications and duties involved in the career path
  • Expand their professional knowledge about related stakeholders, industries, and organizational structure 
  • Grow their professional network and build networking skills

Skill Awareness and Development:
  • Be made aware of transferable skills and knowledge required for success in that career path
  • Discover talents and interests, then assess if they match the career path
  • Be exposed to opportunities to implement those skill
