Internship Overview

A BEST internship is an Immersive Career Exploration Experience 

  • Trainees will have intentional learning goals with measurable outcomes 
  • Each immersive experience should complement and  leverage the intern's scientific backgrounds and career interests
  • Part-time, minimum of 48 contact hours (example: 6 weeks, 8-10 hours a week) *There is flexibility to compress or extend the experience based on the internship partners needs, trainee interest, and approval by trainee adviser
  • Placements can be based on an hourly or project basis

Trainees:
Atlanta BEST Trainees are competitively selected and formally admitted into the program. They are PhD students (3rd year+ and passed doctoral qualifying exams), as well as established  Postdoctoral fellows in Science and Biomedical Engineering disciplines from both Emory University and Georgia Tech. Scientific Backgrounds range from Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Genetics, Bio-statistics, Engineering, and related fields.
